Ensured our workforce understand and follow the NHS guidelines for self-isolation

Worked with our raw material suppliers & hauliers to minimise risk of disruption

Increased social distancing in place at factory. Two-person jobs now single-person, only irrespective of any reduction in output

We are actively monitoring the situation and published guidance from the NHS, WHO and the government.

We are currently operating ‘business as usual’ and are capable of shipping high volumes of standard products such as pallets and layer boards at short notice if needed.

Torin-Sifan recognises the quality and reliability of their products and services, together with a responsibility to the environment, is of great importance to their customers, employees and stakeholders.

Now more than ever, the state of the environment is at the top of everyone’s agenda. There is no doubt individuals and companies alike need to take responsibility for their actions, and at Torin-Sifan, they strive to take a proactive approach to reducing their environmental impact and were seeking an environmentally-friendly alternative to chipboard.

In addition, the cost of chipboard was increasing to an an unsustainable level and an alternative needed to be sourced.

Other alternatives had been tried, but the strength and quality were inferior and not adequate for their requirements.

  • Must be more environmentally-friendly than chipboard.
  • Strong.
  • Lightweight.
  • Competitively-priced.

PALLITE®'s paper-honeycomb board layer pads, adopted by Torin-Sifan, were not only 100% recyclable and made from over 80% recycled materials, but were consequently more environmentally-friendly than traditional chipboard. The paper board layer pads also contributed to lower fuel consumption, due to being lighter than chipboard alternatives.

What's more, the layer pads were price competitive by comparison.

As well as a £20,000 annual saving, Torin-Sifan saw huge environmental benefits.

Their environmental policy covers the areas in which they proactively look to improve. They felt working with PALLITE® helped towards achieving the following three goals:

  • Maintaining an efficient transport fleet to minimise fuel usage.
  • Minimising raw materials usage and reducing waste generated.
  • The conservation of energy, water, raw materials and other natural resources.

Torin-Sifan said that, "It was a smooth transition to PALLITE® and they provided us with the ideal solution."

Layer Pads

Layer Pads

The delivery of your consignment is one of the final stages of your supply chain, but is also the stage that poses most risk. PALLITE® layer pads can be used for stacking, reinforcing or separating loads, as well as providing a protective layer for strapping and banding.

Available in either 25mm or 15mm honeycomb deck, the layer pads can be manufactured to suit your specific dimension needs, helping you to protect your consignment and reduce damages.

What’s more, our honeycomb layer pad is stronger than corrugate whilst still having compliance and absorbency to reduce potential vibration damage to the load.
